A pawnbroker is going through a divorce. Pawnbroker and a hooker get into a fight. Hooker says pawnbroker pushes her against the wall and holds a knife to her throat; pawnbroker denies it, and denies knowing the hooker is a hooker, because she said she was a "massage therapist", even though she was arrested for prostitution six months earlier. Pawnbroker arrested for domestic battery. Case is dismissed when hooker doesn't show up for court. Now pawnbroker wants to be a politician and say people shouldn't hold the hooker incident against him.

The joke is it's a true story. Scott Lee Cohen is the pawnbroker, and he's a Demo-rat running for lieutenant governor right here in Illinois.
