A Veteran's Response

Ranger Steve's two cents on Hussein's commitment to Veterans' health care:

The article below is posted at the VA website.

President Obama's Commitment to Veterans' Health Care

The President is committed to ensuring that the Department of Veterans' Affairs provides America's Veterans with the highest-quality health care possible. His budget requests the largest single-year increase in funding for the Department of Veterans Affairs in three decades, and significantly expands coverage, extending care to 500,000 more veterans who were previously excluded.

Health reform will only build on the President's commitment to Veterans' health care. The VA Healthcare system will continue to be available for all eligible veterans. Also, veterans and their families will have additional choices for high-quality, affordable health care, with consumer protections that will prevent insurance companies from denying coverage or setting a limit on the coverage they will provide.

The health reform legislation that the House of Representatives is considering would enable those covered by VA care, including dependents of certain veterans enrolled in the CHAMPVA program, to meet the individual responsibility mandate; thereby exempting such veterans and dependents from being assessed penalties. If enacted, the President will ensure that this exemption is i
mplemented aggressively. The Secretary of Veterans Affairs would continue to maintain sole authority over the system and for enhancing the quality and access for all eligible veterans.

My response:

...Veterans and their families will have additional choices for high-quality, affordable health care, with consumer protections that prevent insurance companies from denying coverage or setting limits on the coverage they will provide. What the hell does this have to do with the VA providing my health care for a service-connected disability? Why are we talking about insurance companies in any way when talking about Veterans' health care? Is there a hidden proviso in the bill to have private insurance pay for VA treatments? (Read this link if you think that's a stretch.) Hussein has since backed down form that position publicly, but how do we know it is still not the intent of the plan if our own congressmen haven't/won't read the bill?

...to meet the individual responsibility mandate; thereby exempting such veterans and dependents from being assessed penalties. Again, what the hell does this mean? Penalties for what?

I have family members that voted for this idiot president. I'm ashamed to admit it; but, I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt that even they are now wondering "What did I do?". Hey, America, are you sorry yet?

And if you're thinking: "Hey, I should let the White House know about this post," since they have recently asked American citizens to rat on each other, feel free. You've already bought into the socialist one-world government Hussein is attempting to bring to the U.S.

- Thanks to Ranger Steve for the post. If you're going to report it to the White House, check this blog for other entries before you do...get yourself the "Slimey Rat" package deal.
