A Professional Opinion

Thought I'd share Ranger Steve's thoughts on Hussein's view of the Cold War and of the military in general:

I was a soldier serving at the end of the Cold War; got the medal to prove it. I was ending my career at the beginning of the new Global War on Terror. I served with pride, and were it not for a devastating back injury, I'd be serving still, almost at retirement. When I sit back and think about my time in the service, and being led under the command of Bush Sr., in the shadows of Ronald Reagan, it puts a smile on my face. However, I also served under Slick Willy, but managed to survive. Bill Clinton is truly the catalyst for the continued ruination of our military might. Despite Slick Willy's efforts to undermine it, Bush Jr. began to rebuild our military superiority. But now, under the current commander-in-chief, our nation is really starting to look like a joke in the eyes of the rest of the world. People need to realize that right now, the only thing keeping rogue leaders like Pajama Man and the fucking raghead who elected himself the president of Iran from a land invasion of the United States is the thousands of miles of ocean that separate us. We're lucky in that aspect of our geographical location. However, I really believe that if we were invaded by another country, there would be a continued anti-American movement from our own citizens, who would raise their peace signs and call for the American government to end the invasion. It pains me to say it, but sometimes I wish our boys in green would just walk away. Walk away, off the job, with no warning. Then maybe this anti-American attitude, being spearheaded by our own commander-in-chief, would come to an end; I see no other way. But our soldiers won't, as I wouldn't have, because it's their duty, to protect those who can't (or won't) protect themselves...it's called being an American. Thank God for the oceans, or this whole situation would be much different.

The straight dope, from an inside source. No need for me to add anything; you readers can engage your own little grey cells on this one. Thanks again to Ranger Steve.
