Far Out, Man

Scientists have discovered a black hole bigger than Hussein's yammering pie-trap. The biggest one yet, even.

At the heart of the M87 galaxy, fairly close by cosmic standards, lies a black hole with a mass 6.4 billion times that of the sun. I think that officially qualifies it for "Big Honkin' Black Hole" status.

This may help to shed new light on the growth and formation of galaxies, and help to solve the paradox of quasar mass. Exciting stuff, for sure.

Story here.

Really cool stuff at Space.com.
