Well, it only took what, 8 years? But seeing as how nothing major has happened yet, I guess better late than never. Starting today, new passports laws take effect along the Canadian and Mexican borders. No longer will a driver's license and an oral declaration of citizenship be enough to get into the United States; people now need a passport to get in.
I say, "About fucking time." If the new laws catch one bastard intent on blowing up a piece of America, they're worth it. I can understand the Canucks being upset, but I don't trust their security enough to really care. The Mexicans? Screw them and all of their illegal immigrant bastard relatives. Anything we can do to make their lives more miserable is fine with me. Now maybe I'll have to listen to less of them bitching about how lousy Americans are while standing in line sending U.S. dollars back to Guadalajara.
Now all we need is the Border Patrol to obtain the manpower and authority they need to stop the wetbacks, and we'll really be rolling.
Story here.
