The Way It Ought To Be Done

Texas has carried it out the state's 16th execution of the year. Terry Lee Hawkins, 34, was executed for the murder of his 2 step-children, but also admitted to killing his estranged wife, his father, and his half-sister.

Good riddance to bad rubbish. Every state needs to start cleaning out their death rows. I know the one here in Illinois needs a thorough cleansing.

And let me address the inevitable bleeding-heart question: How can I be pro-life but pro-death penalty?

Easy. Being pro-life is advocating for a life that is in every way innocent and defenseless. People on death row are there for a reason: a willful, heinous act that claimed another life, often times several lives. One deserves at least a chance at life; the other had a chance and blew it. So...tough shit, convict. That's the price you pay (or should).

Story here.
