I'm driving my son back from the doctor's yesterday, and after solving the vital problem of exactly where to get donuts, we pass a billboard with Hussein's goofy hopey-changey cheerio symbol on it.
My son is almost 8, and a pretty bright kid. He surprises me with his insights. So he asks me: "Dad, why don't we like Obama again?"
So I lay it out for him. "Because he is trying to ruin our country. He wants the government to run every one's life, he wants politicians and lobbyists to teach children instead of parents and churches, he wants to take away our guns and our freedoms, and he wants to give away people's hard-earned money to other people that don't think they should have to work. He wants to make us subject to his ideas instead of free citizens."
There's silence from the back seat, but I can hear the gears turning. Then, with the simple logic and honesty of a child, my son says, "Well, that's just stupid."
Sure is, boy.
